This is a cool electronic music project I put together a while back, using a whole bunch of samples from public domain b-grade horror flicks.. Back then I didn’t have much else to do, other than scrub through film audio and rip anything usable.
The concept of the album was around recognising the influences that were just around the corner as I was maturing, and carving out an income source.
I dig this project for a few reasons… I worked on some of the tracks with some cool folks, like Tom on the music videos which will probably be lost forever, and Mitch who played electronic drums on the last track, that was the first time I worked with MIDI percussion, also Mitch and I later on worked on the the Haunted Hearts project together. Cool stuff.
..and also, back then you could email your favourite hip-hop artists directly and ask for vocals to play with.. Rah Digga and Ras Kass came through and working with their voices taught me plenty about building a narrative musically.
