Electronic bluegrass music album cover

Electronic bluegrass

Out of curiousity I watched a documentary on Bill Monroe, the father of bluegrass music. Then I clearly saw the challenge; I had to make a bluegrass inspired album with the tools I had available. So I learnt to play banjo, then I learnt to translate the music theory into my production.

I have always liked Buck Owens, and I imagined my lyrics around the simple way he would express himself in his songs (although he was not bluegrass) and with the programmed banjo twanging along in the background, it was a project so bizzare that I’m oddly very proud of.

This marks one of the only times I’ve used A.I. to assist with the lyrics, a venture which while it was interesting, I will not be quick to reuse for my music or lyrics.

I was able to explore topics that I previously couldn’t, a good example is “Not Enough Pixels” which might have been an insurmountable task to achieve in any other genre.

“Gourmet Lovin’” is one of those songs, a gift that came to me.

“Sweet Golden Glow” is one of the best song I’ve produced.
