When I turned 42, I had a decision; give up on rap music, or embrace my education.
This is one of those projects that I go into with the intent to explore and change the perception of a term of phrase. “Tall poppy” has a negative connontation in Australia with “tall poppy syndrome” labelled to those who might otherwise be regarded as ambitious. There was something in that term for me to explore and uncover, and it was when Dough came in and helped with a few tracks that it was all revealed.
A very complete album with an iconic look cover, “Tall poppy” was a big push forward in my complete effort behind a project; in a unique concept, a marketable campaign look, and being one part of a collaborative effort.
“Coast up” could well be used in a larger context, imho.
“Tall poppy in the wind” will always be one of those songs that stand head and shoulders above the rest.
This album will always remain availabe as a snapshot of how to make an album correctly.
