I wrote this album to dig into the concept of humility, finding that in a ego-heavy genre like rap music was quite an introspective excersise.
I believe this EP was recorded shortly after we released N!X!’s album and we were on a bit of a roll. Sonically, N!X! adding her vocals on the EP plays a huge part in giving the songs credibility, and I’ve always enjoyed female / male balancing of vocals.
Personally, it was a massive honour (triumph?) to feature Tom on the title track, Tom was the first person I looked upto in rap music, for his creative and genre defying lyrics. We formed a friendship in 1998.
Reconnecting with Tom to work out the concept of the track is huge for me; my learning for humility really deepened as this project came to life. Lessons that I keep with me beyond just the album.
